How to edit pdf
- Open your PDF. Pages appear down the left, the canvas in the middle, your items on the right.
- Pick a tool and click the page. Add text or an image, draw, highlight, or switch to Edit existing text and retype what is already there.
- Arrange and save. Drag to move, drag a corner to resize, reorder pages if needed, then press Save changes.

Frequently asked questions
How do I add something to the page?
Pick a tool from the toolbar — text, image, pen or highlighter — then click the page. The item appears in the panel on the right, where you can reorder, rename or delete it. Drag an item to move it and drag a corner handle to resize.
Can I change the text that is already in the PDF?
Yes, and most free editors cannot. Switch to the Edit existing text tool and every editable line lights up. Click one, retype it, press Enter. The replacement keeps the original position and size and matches the font family.
Why can I not click some text?
Rotated text and scanned pages cannot be edited. A scan holds a picture of words rather than the words themselves, so run OCR on it first.
Is the text I replaced really gone?
With the flatten box ticked, yes — the edited page is rebuilt as an image so the old wording cannot be extracted. Untick it to keep the page selectable, but be aware the original words stay recoverable underneath. That matters for figures, names and dates.
Which fonts can I use?
Helvetica/Arial, Times New Roman and Courier, in regular, bold, italic and bold italic. These are built into every PDF reader, so the file stays small and displays identically everywhere. Non-Latin scripts are not supported and are reported rather than silently dropped.
Do my edits stay editable after saving?
No. Everything is drawn permanently into the page so it looks the same in every reader. Keep the original file if you may want to change something later.
